Combining elements of Midwest rock, blues, Texas rock, jazz, funk, and even bluegrass, the five members of The HipNecks, formerly The Farmhouse, have conjured a sound all their own. Formed by several college students in 2003 days before a Battle of the Bands, the formula proved immediately successful as the band left stage that night with the first place trophy. In the years following,the evolution of their songs and their sound has come full circle to encapsulate what rock from the Midwest should be. With driving soulful beats, a roaring harmonica, crisp lyrics, and the best guitar lines offered, The HipNecks began a stream of high energy bar performances in Mid-Missouri performing around ten shows a month headlining venues ranging from The Blue Note to the holiest of hole-in-the-wall bars across the state, bringing the houses down. The HipNecks have continued in that same spirit since, returning home National Champions from Garagestock in July of 2005, being crowned "The Best Garageband in America." With their debut album, 'Just Another Fine Day,' having over 400 copies sold in it's first week and a total of over 900 since, they are looking to violently expand the scope of their horizons and play anywhere, anytime.
