Happy Hitchcock's music started packing a punch with audiences when he shared the stage with Ramblin' Jack Elliot at the legendary KFAT radio station, then headlined the acclaimed Fat Fry show nearly a quarter of a century ago. His California-extolling tune "Stick Texas In Your Ear" became a hit on the popular progressive Americana radio station KFAT. When Happy Hitchcock performed the tune in Las Vegas, Buck Owens proclaimed it "a real cute little song."

Blazing the trail of foot-stompin' fun, Happy Hitchcock's latest recording on Shop Records, Happy Hour, Keeps pumping out the rhythms. With clever wordplay and raunchy images, Happy Hitchcock's tunes put a grin on every face. Backing Happy hitchcock on this CD are topnotch musicians, including Stanley Behrens (Canned Heat) on harmonica and saxophone, Eamonn Flynn (The Commitments) on piano and organ, and Jimmy Jackson (Trailer Park Troubadours) on electric guitar.

Happy Hitchcocck's vibrant live performances feature raise-the-roof rockinitis from the Lucky Dogs, all San Luis Obispo musicians of another popular Central Coast band, Park Hotel: Willie Klearman on electric guitar, Stan House on drums, and Bill Bosch on bass. Happy Hitchcock and the Lucky Dogs have opened for Queen Ida and her Bon Temps Zydeco Band and blues great Charles Brown. The Lucky Dogs can also be heard on Happy Hitchcock's highly acclaimed first Shop Records CD recording, Nashville Nightmare.
