A modern-folk blend of alt-country and pop, with just a touch of blues and jazzy-lounge, all accented with the uplugged sound of acoustic guitar, voice, and some 'mean' harmonica solos.
10 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Modern Folk, POP: Folky Pop
Details:
Paul Hlebcar has been a San Francisco Bay Area musician and bandleader for over twenty years. He plays both acoustic and electric guitar, not to mention a "mean" harmonica.
As the leader of the seven-piece R&B band, The Desotos, Paul has played many large and small venues, including: the Fillmore Auditorium (opening for Tower of Power), the San Francisco Giants' Stadium (where The Desotos sang the National Anthem three times), and numerous wedding and corporate event locations throughout the Bay Area. In previous years, many famous musicians have sat-in with The Desotos.
Paul's other love is a quieter, "unplugged" sound, which goes back to his roots (he began his career playing folk music). Lately, he has been performing regularly in smaller, more intimate settings. His warmth and personality come across well at these gigs. Paul simply loves to perform, does it in a friendly manner--- and does it well.
