Hello, I am Mike the guitarist/vocalist for the band Home Pharmacy. What you are reading here is our bio that I am writing for our cdbaby page.
Now, I have written countless "band bios" for my band and I am not happy with any of them. So here I am going to go with a different approach; just flat out honesty. No buzz words-no BS-no hype.
Here is a little history. Paul (bassist / vocalist) and I have been doing Home Pharmacy for years, since the year 2000. We used to be a "regular" four piece band with a drummer and a keyboardist. We did our thing around our hometown for a couple years until our drummer and keyboardist lost interest. This puts Paul and I into a situation so we decide to do something different and replace our former members with machines.
This actually allowed us to really focus on our songwriting. We found that programming the drums while we were writing really gave us alot of control of what the song was going to end up sounding like. Now we were at the point where we really need a cd. This is when we met Calvin through a local music store. He had his own studio and had lots of experience. We were excited to work with him and he was excited about turning our little drum
machine into an "eight armed-maniac drummer" via samples.
We recorded with Calvin for a couple of years before we decided on the right material for our cd ep 'the
fascinating life of a businessman'. This cd is basically our "best of" cd for the first years of our existance, so the songs go through a wide range of dynamics for a six
track ep. Calvin really understood where we were coming from and the production is amazing on the disc. We are very proud of this cd. Thanks for reading all of this. I hope you enjoy the music.
