Details:
Poet, singer, and songwriter Homero Oyarce, has just completed his fourth CD,"Nosotros los Inmigrantes" (We the Immigrants), where his verses fuse with the traditions of various instruments to recreate the feeling of the immigrant experience - love, fear, excitement, nostalgia, hope.
"Nosotros los Inmigrantes" is performed in Spanish and has both the lyrics and translation to English included.

Homero Oyarce has toured Europe four times, as well as traveled extensively throughout the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Philippines. He sings his own songs and when presenting familiar musical folklore of Latin America, he imbues it with great feeling and originality. Homero Oyarce performs in concerts, at festivals and private functions, in schools and universities, as well as other settings. He also lectures on his experiences as the first hospital troubadour - a job he held for more than five years at Stanford University Medical Center; work that he is presently doing in two Veteran's hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Those experiences of supporting families and patients through painful times and often end-of-life issues, reinvigorates and deepens the poetry he offers.
Homero recorded his first album, "Licencia Para Cantar" (License to Sing), in 1981 in Amsterdam. His second compilation of songs, "Sed de Peregrino" (Thirst of the Wanderer), was recorded in Lima. His third recording, Inmigrante Gorrion (Immigrant Sparrow), was completed in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Homero considers one of his greatest achievements to be the construction of a rural school in his home village in Peru.
