With the years of musical and performing experience between the group totaling over 30 years, the Hood Hykers are more than ready to blaze a trail to stardom. The highly anticipated debut album, "Rhyme Hustler Vol. 1", is to be released by the independent label A1LUVJOINT in February 2003. This album will showcase the mix of hard-core and hip-hop/R&B flavored tracks that characterize the unique versatility of the Hood Hykers' style.
The members that make up the Hood Hykers Crew are B-Child (Brian Jackson), Shotty Mac (Theo Dyke) and Dubb Slimm (John Vick). Theo Dyke is also deemed as one the group's producers.Recently released this year the lead single "Stickee", with it's raunchy lyrics and its catchy hook has shone to definitely be a party/nightclub hit. This year having achieved local success in South Florida's tri-county area, the Hood Hykers are poised to make their mark on the national hip-hop scene.To kick things off they have opened in a variety of nightclub hot spots and festivals such as The Mango Festival in Deerfield Beach, the Rainbow Festival in Pompano beach, Seagram Gin Tour in Miami Beach and the Roots Cultural in Palm Beach County.
The Hood Hykers are maintaining their local success as they are highly requested and are in heavy rotation on South Florida's underground hip-hop scene and being reviewed for mainstream radio.
