Ghani Gautama and Metrognome started making music together late 2001 in Atlanta GA and eventually became founding members of Street Temple Emcees a five man collective that was active in and around Atlanta from 2002 to 2005 and released an album called Asphalt Prophets. Shortly after the albums release the group split up and the members went their own ways. Gautama and Metrognome had plans on putting out a Ghani Gautama solo record as early as 2005 but a studio robbery claimed the only existing copies of the music. Metrognome went on to become the tour DJ for the Bring Your A Game Tour backing up Atlanta grind master, Quanstar and his crew on stages across the country. Meanwhile Ghani Gautama made several attempts to release a solo record none of which came to see the light of day. Then in late 2006 Gautama and Metrognome reunited and by early 2007 they were hard at work building the foundation for what would become Give âEm Enough Hope Ghaniâs much anticipated solo endeavor. By paring up Gautamaâs back log of lyrics with beats that Metrognome had been working on since the end of Street Temple and adding a few new offerings the duo compiled a lush collection of heartfelt hip-hop songs. This collection was released for public consumption July 1st 2008 and marks the beginning of a musical adventure that has the potential to change both artistsâ lives profoundly.
