ESENIA began to shaping up as a project straightly related to Gothic Metal style in the Spanish city of Vigo. On summer 2004, first line-up starts its activity with former members of other local acts adapting songs of some well-known bands such as HIM, The 69 Eyes, Charon or Lacuna Coil to a seven-piece format with male and female vocals.
Three months after, the band record the first demo CD, in a single format, including the song 'Creo' and two covers. Soon, live activity started to grow, including presetations on some spanish Festivals and a good reception of critics and audience. In 2005 , Esenia releases the first EP under the title of "AMNIO". Gradually, the band starts to build itself a name in spanish underground dark scene and also catch the attention of some south-american media. The 'Amnio' touring included concerts at Oporto or Madrid sharing stage with some notable spanish bands as Circus, Sphinx, MyOwnGravity....
On March 2006, Andrés Cunha -member of Creole Kings and the acclaimed classic rock band Los High Sierras- became new Esenia member on guitar, reinforcing the personal spund of the band in constant evolution. The same year, female vocalist is dropped out of the band and Esenia became a sextet.
Live performing never stops for the band. With new ideas and new songs in the new format, on October 2006, its releasedthe single 'Fragmentos'. This point means a new step forward in the evolution of the band.
In the year 2007, the song 'Creo' is included on the Gallaecian Metal Compilation album.This year, Esenia record its first long-play, âEl Templo de las Mareasâ, including the mentioned single âFragmentosâ. One of the highest peaks of the presentation touring, on same year's summer is performing as opening-act of the spanish band Marea in front of an 8.000 crowd audience in one of most celebrated spanish stages, Castrelos Auditorium. The band is already working on new songs and still on the road.
