Details:
Originally from New Orleans, Richard L. Weil graduated from Louisiana State University, and Loyola Law School in New Orleans, and has been in the active practice of law in New Orleans since his graduation. Knowing his love for music and his ability to instantly compose and sing a great song off his cuff, his wife suggested one night in August, 2004, that he should go to Nashville to pursue a music career. Labor Day, 2004, they headed to Nashville. Richard has been working on his music career since then. Following Hurricane Katrina and the loss of his property and things in New Orleans, Richard moved into his river camp in Nashville and began concentrating on a career as a solo artist and recording star, while still maintaining his practice of law.
Working at Cumberland Studio in Nashville, Tennessee, Billy Anderson has produced the songs that Richard selected. Richard's mission is to bring into contemporary times the music that shaped the lives and times of the baby boom generation, the songs with meaning that cater to the good in life, doing the right things, following ones conscious for the greater good of all. Music where you can understand the words and where you can hear a message that is uplifting and touching. Where love is celebrated, hope prevails, and those fuzzy, warm memories of years past come rushing back just like when you were a kid.
Richard has simultaneously released three albums, the first being "2008: I Am Running For President", a poignant political campaign combining political satire that touches on many of today's most important social subjects, with great sounding Adult Contemporary/Light Rock vocals. Richard's music will touch the emotions and souls of many people. Hitting on today's hottest socio- and political topics, such as Immigration Reform, Global Warming, Stem Cell Research, and others, Richard's unique style of intellectual orations followed by popular songs that lend meaning to his message. Richard, unlike many musicians, is not afraid to touch on today's most controversial political subjects.
Richard's second release "World War II- My Father's Letters" are letters taken from his father's magnificent collection of World War II letters his father wrote home, daily, from June, 1942 until December, 1945. These letters were placed in a scrapbook by Richard's grandfather, Joseph Howard Weil, and he presented them to his son upon his arrival home from the war. These are a moving collection of letters detailing life during World War II. From Richard's father trying to get registered in the military, to his first day overseas, to meeting his bride while in England, these letters give not just a glimpse, but a detailed and accurate description of the daily lives of our war time veterans during a very trying time in our World's history. When Richard's father, Roswell Joseph Weil, left his parents on the curb in New York city, he vowed to write home on a daily basis. He did just that. It is an amazing compilation of letters written by a brilliant man.
Richard's third album, "Krazy From Katrina - New Orleans" is an outstanding CD of rock and inspirational songs that range from 60's hits to a self-written wedding song "I Do". Full of energy, Richard Lyons Weil's great voice resonates outstandingly throughout the many songs that touch on life, love, and inspiration. This album is a tribute to New Orleans and its' effort to rebuild. âNew Orleans Boy I will always beâ¦â is the opening line from Richard's hit âNashville RockStarâ. Richard was born in New Orleans in 1952 where he spent his entire life. Hurricane Katrina changed all that. New Orleans instilled in Richard the spirit from the City that Care Forgot, the feeling that despite all odds and no matter what they say, with the right attitude, the right spirit, and the right vibration, anything can be accomplished. As he states on this album, âNew Orleans will be back.â
