The 2001 Colorado Springs Melody Award winner Ian Sean Knox was born on March 29th 1979. Ian was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri in the inner city of Bluemyer Housing projects. Where he was involved in a lot of gang activities. While Growing up he started listening to such musical influences, as his brother Kenny Knox, Brotha Lynch Hung and Ice Cube, in 1992. At the age of 13 he tried his hand at writing music. His first song was Anutha Day in My Hood. After writing Anutha Day in My Hood that lead to other songs, composed by him up to 1996. At the age 17 he got caught up in some turmoil, and decided to change his life around. By leaving Missouri and move to Colorado. It took him a while to get use to Colorado Springs because, Colorado is extremely different from St. Louis. He stopped writing for about 1 year. Then in 1997, he had his own views about the government and the end of the world. Having his own views possessed him to start writing again, and to make him do something with his music. Dealing with alot of hole in the wall studio's, and freestyling on a lot of tapes, eventually made him realize that he has a knack for producing. That lead him to acquire his own label in 2000 at the age of 21. He took a step into the engineering seat by recording out of his home to practice for the real thing. Later on that year he met up with composer/musician Lyndon Copeland. Then in late January of 2001, they started working together.they eventually parted ways in late 2002 and ian has been working independent ever since
