Details:
Music From the Icy Coast is a sonic landscape combining rock, electronic, and downbeat elements fueled by captive vocals, guitars, live drums, bass, and tasty electronics. From the Icy Coast was named a 2002 CMJ finalist in their search for "America's best unsigned band" after being together less than a year. Their live performance is described by The Stranger Magazine as a "big atmospheric rock vibe that has commercial radio breakthrough seemingly written into all aspects of their work". Seattle's "Icy Coast" looks far to the north of conventional music to create and define a style all their own.

Howie Sennet formed From the Icy Coast in 2001 after writing the debut album "End of the Line" while taking time off from his other band (Sixty Cycle Hum). An avid fan of many avenues of electronic and rock music, he wanted to bring them together without the cliches of what much of the electronic and industrial music scene had been doing over
the previous decade. After collaborating with guitarist Troy Fleischauer (also of Sixty Cycle Hum), he met drummer Aaron Nicholes (another avid fan of electronic music), and
bassist Aaron McCoy to form this new band. By May of 2002
had the lineup needed to take it out live.

In December of 2002 the band finished recording and production for End of the Line, and followed up with a 15 day 13 date west coast tour, and performed extensively throughout NW in 2003. Currently From the Icy Coast
is working on the follow-up album entitled "trAnsient", due out in mid 2004. Another tour is in the works. For more info visit them at www.icycoast.com.
