Hip Hop for Tyler Webb, AKA OneWerd, officially began somewhere late in his high school career. A visit to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, with their current exhibit on the artwork of legendary SF Graff writer TWIST, keyed Werd into the notion that there was something unusual happening on the streets of his neighboring metropolis. Though music didnât come into Werdâs reality for another year or two, when it did, a fire was caught thatâs still burning today. Wu-Tang Clan, Living Legends, Quannum Projectsâ¦..these were some of the first names that christened Werd into the world of Hip Hop, underground and otherwise. Being a âlate bloomerâ in the world of Hip Hop (many of his counterparts had long been enthusiasts, schooled on the likes of Nas, LL Cool J and Rakim), Werd tended to stray from the more traditional schools of style both in his listening tastes and his own creative processes.
