Mateo Denali is an unusual mash-up of experiences, both in and out of the musical realm. He is both classically trained, and a self-taught musician.
Son of legendary singer/writer/producer Eugene McDaniels, he was fed daily doses of classic rock, classical, soul, funk, jazz, pop, folk, hip-hop, reggae and more. It was inescapable that he would forge a unique musical path.
Mateo has performed since the age of five, and has rooted down in Los Angeles, performing at some of L.A.âs most sumptuous venues. He has also had songs licensed for TV, film, soundtracks and has arranged/produced/performed on independent CD releases including Dane Cookâs Tourgasm on HBO (and itâs subsequent soundtrack), as well as a guest artist appearance on âSigns of Lifeâ from the âMusic Inspired by the Movie â Wall-Eâ EP (itunes only).
Incessant grooves, gritty guitars, poignant lyrics and exquisite intimate vocals pour out of every song he composes and performs. Welcome to the journey.
