This album was meant to be a blueprint for a band. It was engineered by Lewis Harris, 2000, Richmond, VA. I mention the date because I recorded THE FOX AND THE FLOWER before Sept.11, 2001. I have always been haunted by the final song in the context of 911, and I don't want people thinking I was taking an odious advantage out of a mere song in capitalizing on the great tragedy of that day. That said, I recorded this cd in one sitting in my friend Lewis Harris's living room. I had some songs mapped out. Others contain much extemporizing. My favorite is "Trap," but now I'm just another listener. I had a good time playing that day. I did have a few lyric sheets, which you can hear me turning a couple of times, but most of the time I had my eyes closed and was just waiting to hear "Rolling." MR
