POP: 60's Pop, EASY LISTENING: Love Songs

Details:
In 1958 at one of their car club parties, Darron and Al
were quietly singing together (as they often did while on fishing trips and just cruising around)when Jim stepped up behind them and put in the high harmony to "Cherry Pie".
Everyone at the party stopped talking and dancing, someone turned off the record player and everyone quietly gathered around them, you could hear a pin drop--and that was how it all started...

After cutting 2 songs (track #18 & #24-which were produced
by Herb Alpert for Andex) the guys were signed by Indigo
Records and changed the group name to the name of their
car club--THE INNOCENTS. The rest of the cuts on this CD are THE INNOCENTS work while on Indigo during 1959 to 1962.

Ace Records lovingly remastered this work in 1992. It features the hits, "Honest I Do", "Gee Whiz" and "Beware" along with other expressions of teen angst that hit the mark with their soft, intimate harmonies and vulnerability.
Their music is a combination of Pop, with shades of DooWop, R&B and early Rock & Roll.

Check out some of the cover songs such as "Donna" or
"Beware" and you will see the groups distinctive and always original renderings on every song, backed by the top studio musicians working in Los Angeles at the time. The studio patter and musings show what it must have been like for the artists as people wandered in and out of the studio during
the session-(check out "Honest I Do" track)
