Bad Side as a solo project: spending relentless hours layering instruments is a fantastic way of creating sound scapes and full body pieces when alone, but it is hard to capture each instrument utilising its own powerful potential. In order to create a more âin the momentâ one man performance, I created my own audio program using MAX/MSP allowing me to work INCREDIBLY effectively in real time. It works like an advanced looping station in which I plug in every imaginable instrument into a powerbook G4 and record, record, record. I then am able to loose myself in the moment and create an endless barrage of variations, jams, and endless opportunities. It creates an artistic expression that is techno with no samples, a jam band with no members, a sound scape with one no electronics, and inspiration that music is a tool for everyone to use for themselves.
