Balantz was formed in 2003 by DB Hackett and Dave Carter to promote songs written by the duo. They added Jimmy Herrington on guitar and mandolin and became an acoustic trio. As they progressed, they grew into a 6 piece band. Balantz's Debut CD "Truth -N- Justice" was released in November 2005.


Balantz History...

DB Hackett played and toured with many bands throughout the Carolinas and the southeast including Nashville, TN for 11 years. During that time, he also played at the Whitehouse Christmas Tree Lighting in 1991. After 7 years on hiatus, DB decided to pursue his musical dream of writing and performing his own songs.

In 2001, DB forged a songwriting partnership with long time friend Dave Carter, singer-songwriter. Jacksonville, Florida was their home and where they began their musical journey together.

Their ability to cross many genres with their music and song writing abilities allows their music to appeal to a wide variety of musical styles and age groups. "Angels Flyin To Me" and "Where I Come From" are reasons enough to discover this very talented duo. "The Addiction" supercharges this CD with it's heavy rock sound, powerful vocals and compelling style. Guitar-driven modern rock, easy listening, southern rock all figure into the mix on "Truth -N- Justice".

DB and Dave only know one way to write, sing and perform and that's straight from the heart. The level of confidence they exude along with the depth of passion they feel for their music along with the way they make their listeners feel is masterful.
