Description:

(ID 349139)
Tight songwriting, hummable melodies, and funky electric guitars meeting folky acoustics while sharing a beer with rock-style drums, bass lines that make you say 'mmm mmm', and a jazz-funk saxophone. Something for everyoneÂ

11 MP3 Songs
POP: Folky Pop, ROCK: Funk Rock

Details:

This is an album for a person who likes a variety of music.

Indira, hailing from Yale University, had songs that were constantly a work in progress before they finally landed at '1454.' As a result, there is quite the palette of colors and textures to choose from on the album.

The sound shifts from folky pop on 'The Game' to funk on 'Mr. Supernatural' to a general airy feel on 'Walking' and 'Blue Ceiling' to straightforward pop on 'Stay the Same' and 'All the Way.' The eclecticism of the songwriting can be attributed to the variety of music to which the band listens.

Perhaps the most unique characteristic of Indira would be its consistent use of an alto saxophone in its rock instrumentation. It plays many of the melodies in the songs, similar to jazz heads, but in a rock style. And no, it doesn't sound like Kenny G. See for yourself!
