A long-distance collaboration between the Son of Semele theater ensemble and composer Andrew Ingkavet creates a powerfully, haunting soundtrack. Created for a production of Matthew Maguire's play "The Tower", the darkly beautiful symphonic-electronica songs combine ancient with modern, ethnic with domestic and local with global. These tracks are the instrumental scores used in the production which opened June 24, 2004 at the Cell2 theater in Silver Lake, Los Angeles.
LA Times called this music "precious".
Backstage West..."it's Maguire's words, and the haunting original music by Andrew Ingkavet, that are the driving force here...And the profound nature of this layered work will not soon be forgotten by anyone who experiences it."
