Kimbâlyâs lyrical talents are directly attributed to her love of reading and her fatherâs insistance that she read everything, all the time. Her trademark lyrical sappiness can be directly attributed to her bleeding-heart liberal mother... AWESOME! Sheâs been a trashy techno-band babe, a choir angel, a sexy-cool jazz singer, a shower-rockstar, and has released two records of her own, chicsinger and a kind of lovechild. Kimbâlyâs performed and recorded with lotsa people - Dianne Reeves, Larry Garner, Bob French, Jimmy Ward, and various and sundry choirs and groupings. All that and cookies, too!
Pauldav1d is one of the few: the kind of cat you hire not only because he can play, but because heâs an on-time kind of cat. Right on the money, everytime. No b.s., no excuses. Heâs musical and creative and genius in his musical choices on the bandstand or in the studio. PD quit a full-ride scholarship at prestigious Tulane University to grub it out as a wanna-be professional piano player... practicing 8 hours a day because heâs a perfectionist nerd and playing out in the clubs all night because heâs a perfectionist period. Studied under Ellis Marsalis in the UNO Jazz Studies Program and labored under Leroy Jones, Kermit Ruffins, George and Bob French, David Torkanowsky, Shannon Powell, Trombone Shorty and all the New Orleans cats on gigs and sessions.
