HIGHLIGHT DESCRIPTION:

Hailing from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jade Trees Weepings' four-member band delivers potent songs with a unique mix of dreamy melodies and emotional progressions. Their searching lyrics take root from life's many facets and challenge listeners to contemplate an array of hidden metaphors. Their first full-length CD, Dissonance, was released in May 2003 which includes ten original scores.

This immerging band's momentum has been on the upswing and they are quickly notching out their identity. Band members say they have learned to recognize the strengths and talents each has to offer and learned how to meld that uniqueness to make it work for them as a group. Hard work, commitment and remaining focused on their vision are the tools the group says they use to propel themselves forward. And forward they have gone - their music has found it's way around the world to Slovakia, Nova Scotia, France, Spain, Belgium, Germany and New Zealand.

BAND BIO:

WHO WE ARE
Jade Trees Weeping is a four-piece progressive rock band with its roots in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Our set includes one and a half hours of original songs with a unique mix of dreamy melodies and emotional progressions. Our music is designed to meet people where they are. The lyrics are deep and searching and the emotional content of our music identifies with the circumstances found in real life all around us. We illustrate issues about the hurting, the lonely, the questioning, and the addicted. People walk through this life with an array of unanswered questions and hidden feelings. We believe the things that make us seem so different are actually the very things that make us all so alike. We don't merely aim to entertain musically but desire to challenge our audience to contemplate the meaning and message behind an array of hidden metaphors. At the present time we are working hard on several more original songs and we have already produced our first full-length CD, Dissonance. The album, manufactured by Disc Makers and released in May of 2003, includes ten original scores.

OUR BEGINNING
All bands have their roots; ours began with the intense music scene and growing industry of the late 90's. Bands of that time struck a chord for millions with their powerful musical substance, less pop flavor and more driving undertones. This musical style inspired us to begin a short-lived quartet. Two years and two new members later we have regrouped. We refocused our energy, incorporated new ways of thinking about our lyrics and songwriting styles, and began the steps to create the band we are today. Hard work, commitment, and remaining focused on our vision are the tools we've used to propel ourselves forward - and forward we have gone. Some called us a little band with a big vision and when a local radio station held a battle of the bands for the entire southwest Michigan listening area, we entered and found ourselves the winner out of 33 entries. The vision was quickly becoming a reality.

WHERE WE'RE GOING
Since that time a lot has happened. Our momentum has been on the upswing and we are fast developing our identity. We have become stronger, more experienced and secure in who we are. We recognize the strengths and talents each band member has to offer and have learned how to meld that uniqueness to make it work for us as a group.

The places we have played at are only outnumbered by the kaleidoscope of people we have performed for. Our music is slotted and played regularly on a number of in and out-of-state radio stations, and has found its way around the world to some of the most unlikely places - Slovakia, New Zealand, Nova Scotia, France, Spain, Belgium, and Germany. In 2001 Jade Tress Weeping was featured in the May issue of the music review magazine, 7Ball, also including our song, Under the Water, on their GAS #25 CD compilation. In the spring of 2003 we released our first full-length album, Dissonance, which is now marketed online as well as in numerous music outlets. We have each made a commitment to give this enterprise our best shot. So far it has been an intensely exciting journey and we look forward to all that lies ahead.
