hi,my name is Jake Lentz,originator of The Beautiful Earth
Jazz Band which began several years back when I had a working band at one of the top resorts in the Catskill Mts.
in upstate NY. I was studying with John Carisi at the time
and thru much encouragement from him I wrote some original
tunes which I recorded at Rudy Van Gelder Studios and then
went on to form a working band,BEJB. The players on this
'Best of'CD are of some of the best in the business including:tenor sax, Arnie Krakowsky, David Earle Johnson on
conga dr,Lanny Fields on bass and Carl Deitz on drs.

Some of you may be interested in my background and where I'm
from.I was born in Minnesota [New Ulm]worked in polka bands
in my teens,studied in Hollywood,Ca.,worked with J Dorsey,
Billy May,Glenn Miller, Woody Herman big bands plus a few
more. I was assistant conductor, pianist and arranger for
The National Ice Capades. I studied composition with
John Carisi and Meyer Kupferman. I would love to hear from
anybody out there to talk music,arranging,composition,anything.I love music!!
