Shadowlight Music is proud to present Jamie and happy to announce the release of her debut CD 'Music From a Love Shared'. These original vocals and instrumentals showcase the exquisite sound of Jamie's violin and introduces you to the songwriter and vocalist.

Listening to the greats from a wide range of music genres over the years inspired Jamie to find her own sound and voice. Love has a lot to do with Jamie's music. The love and respect for and from the players on this CD is where her courage came from to share that sound and voice with everyone. Her desire to showcase some of San Diego's finest musicians was beautifully balanced by their insistence that it would be Jamie and her musical statement that would be the heart of this CD.

Jamie produced this CD with extrordinary creative support by all involved. This music reflects Jamie's love of blues, jazz, folk & latin. Because her expression is so wide ranging, it will be hard to catagorize her. Looking at her influences; Papa John Creach, Stuff Smith, Les Mccann, Willie & Lobo, Carlos Santana, Van Morrison, Sade, Billie Holiday, Stan Getz, Jobim and Paul Simon, will give you a taste of where 'Music From a Love Shared' will take you.

Soulful and romantic music to lift the spirit in young and old, from the pop oriented 'Fingers and Strings', an anthem for anyone who has ever picked up a guitar and written a song, to the jazzed 'Middle Of A Miracle', Jamie's appeal is as wide ranging as her audience. If blues is your bag, check out the gospel based 'Galatea' with John Rekevic's spellbinding sax solo and the classic sound of 'Midnight Dove', where the blues/jazz chops of Larry Mitchell & Mikan Zlatkovich move this train down the tracks.

The instrumentals cover a broad rhythmic landscape featuring 'Latina Suite' a three song masterpiece defined by the interplay between the horn of Gilbert Castellanos and Jamie's violin. 'Gata Negra', a smoky tango, and the Italian flavored melody of 'Piazza Di Spagna', gently driven by a latin beat, extend the palette of violin expression.

Jamie's sultry voice and soulful violin playing is complimented by great perfomances throughout the CD, notably Gilbert Castellanos' trumpet work on 'Middle of a Miracle' and 'Latina Suite'. Additional flavor is added by Fred Benedetti's eloquent classical guitar, and the incomparable piano of Mikan Zlatkovich. The amazing rhythm section of Carlos Vasquez & Brian Cantrell on drums, Monette Marino on percussion, and the "bring it all together" dynamic bass playing of James East create a tight groove on all tracks. Add to this the sweet sax of Joe Marillo on 'Roads to Inspiration', the surreal synth work of Martin Greaves on 'Vision Divine', the driving steel guitar of Jon Gambino on 'Ocean Song' and the production sensibilities and guitar wizardry of Larry Mitchell on 'Fingers and Strings', you have an exciting first set from a young artist who is charting a unique course.

Jamie's music is the next wave rolling through this quiet storm of independence. Jamie is releasing 'Music From A Love Shared' on Shadowlight Music, her world wide web label. Jamie launched Shadowlightstudios. com at the millenium to bring together her love of music, art, & design. She has done that and much more in celebrating music and the people that make it every day since coming to San Diego in 1994.

She has created CD covers , posters and web designs for some of San Diego's finest musical talents with the able assistance of art director, John Paul Jones, best known for his Santana and Van Morrison LP covers. She has produced events at the Catamaran and Dizzy's, showcasing the many talents she shares her site with.

Many in San Diego have seen her recently on TV playing a Billie Holiday tune 'God Bless the Child' on Joe Marillo's Tribute Concert from Dizzy's. Well, this child has got her own. Her own sound, her own songs and now her own way of sharing this music with everyone. That's where you come in.
