Having written spiritual pop songs for a long time, a while back I decided to try writing congregational worship songs (inspired by Sherwin Mackintosh, Steve Johnson, Geoff Fawcett, Kevin Darby, and other kingdom music heroes of mine). When the "Songs of the Kingdom" songbook was published by DPI (www.dpibooks.org), I was blessed to have several songs included (most of those songs are on this CD: Be With Me Lord, Great Among the Nations, I Need Your Love, Thank You Lord, and Go Make Disciples).

After that time, I continued to write new songs for the church, and I think there is always a need for new easy-to-sing songs to praise God, thank him, and connect with him emotionally. I hope some of the new worship songs on this CD can not only encourage you personally but can also be a tool for the worship in your church. All of the new songs on this disc were written with the intention of using them for congregational worship, teachable in four-part harmony (for sheet music visit www.jbriancraig.com). Although they are recorded here with instruments, they all work as purely a capella songs as well. If you prefer instrumentation and don't have the resources in your group, in the future I plan to offer backup tracks of the songs on this album for you to utilize.

Besides the songbook songs and the new ones, there are also a few songs on this CD which are really old and dear to my heart that have been "modernized" a little (Fountain Free, Lead Me to Calvary, When I Survey, and When the Morning Comes), as well as a couple of my favorite congregational songs written by my friend Geoff Fawcett (Hallelujah and Be Strong).
