Details:
“Back in the Day” aptly describes what comes to mind when you hear JD perform. It’s music the way you remember it. Real guitars, real horns, and keyboards played with that smooth jazzy old-school flavor that made music what it was back in the day! And of course JD’s lyrical style and rich vocal tones bring back memories of an era when music “felt good” and male vocalist ruled the air waves.

JD comes from a musical family and has been singing as long as he can remember. It was always a part of him, but it was early in 1990 when his career began. It was then that he began singing at various music venues around the D.C. area like Mr. Henry’s, Martin’s Crosswinds and Howard University’s Blackburn Center to name a few.

Like many others before him James took up the challenge of performing at the Apollo Theater and learned much from that experience to further help shape his career. It is with this experience and love for what he is doing that he brings you his debut CD “Back in the Day.” Written and produced by Chris Williams, this project gives everyone the opportunity to see what persistence, hard work and love for your craft can accomplish.
