Bethel High School 10th grader releases 5th Independent CD!

Known to many of you as Walter Carl Parker, Jr., or CJ but to the rest of the entertainment world as L.O.C (short for LilâOld C) This young man has been recording, performing and releasing âPositiveâ hip-hop music since the age of 5. Now 15 yrs. Old L.O.C has released his 5th CD under his dadâs TRU-TALENT RECORDS label.

Born on Nov. 5,1992 the son of W. Carl Parker, Sr. and Tishawna Parker, âL.O.C.â has worked overtime to put his City on the map. He is among other things an exceptional student, and accomplished martial artist, a pool player, and a role model. He has been featured in numerous newspapers and magazines locally and nationally. Among them: the Daily Press, The Virginia Pilot, The NEW Journal & Guide, The Hampton Roads Voice, Word Up Magazine, Songwriters Monthly, Nine Volt Magazine, Mix Magazine and Portfolio Weekly to name a few. Rap to âL.O.C.â is more than a past time. âThis is my life!â as he is quoted saying in an interview recorded (video) at the young age of 5 years old.

(His story)
L.O.C first recognized his rapping skills at 5-years old in the back seat of the car coming home from karate practice. Dad overheard him singing to several songs that were being played on the radio. And once they arrived home decided that he would call young CJ to his recording studio and have him sing something into the microphone and see how it sounded. After CJ sang a line that his dad had quickly jotted down on a scrap piece of paper, dad called the other family members into the room to witness what even he could not believe. CJ had talent! A few months later dad saw a talent contest being held at a local music store and decided to let CJ enter. There were 40 contestants age 15 and younger, CJ was the youngest. âI remember when they handed my son the microphone and he was just standing thereâ¦.â They asked, âAre you ready?â CJ nodded his head. And when the beat came on CJ transformed into this remarkable young talent. âIt caught everyone in the room by surprise!â CJ won 1st place! After which, the articles and the interviews started pouring in. The timing could not have been better. CJâs father had just finished building his home recording studio in hopes to produce local talent. CJ became that first talent. Less than 3 months later we got a call from a local newspaper that wanted to do a feature story on CJ. They wanted to write about him in hopes of getting some national attention for his talents. We set up the article to coincide with the release date of his first single, âNever Too Young!â (Sept 20, 1999). After which we received numerous calls from National television programs hoping to have CJ perform for their audiences as well. In Oct of the same year, CJ was a guest on the Jenny Jones show in Chicago. CJâs career took off from there and to date has released 4 more CDs! âA kids Lifeâ (2002), âPlay Ballâ (2004), (self titled) âCarl Parker, Jr. AKA L.O.Câ (2006) and
