If this is the era of the spoken word, then this is the era of Jean-Claude Toran. Jean-Claude has been performing poetry for more then twenty-five years. He writes and performs his poetry for poetry lovers across the nation. Jean-Claude Toran has performed in Boston, Los Angeles,
San Franciso, Oakland, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and New York City. He has been featured at many festivals. The National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta, The Los Angeles Street Festival and many others.
Jean-Claude Toran first gained national attention with the release of The Bicentennial Poet on Philadelphia International Records in 1976. Jean-Claude Toran's most recent performances (2003) have been with Roy Ayers at the Captial City Jazz Festival and Fort Dupont Park in Washington,D.C.
All the music on A Monster Poet was composed and arranged by Ron Richardson. Ron is a self-taught musician and as a child he started playing bass at the age of 12 and was performing at the age of 16. He is a Brooklyn,New York native and currently tours with Roy Ayers.Ron worked with Phillis Hyman for eight years and had worked as her musical director for one year up to her death. Ron has also worked with Bill Withers, Noel Pointer, Will Downing, Tom Browne,
Angela Bofill and Bobbi Humphrey. His presence helps to make this project, A Monster!
