A musician who plays with himself. Every note is played by him without sampling. A saxy (yes) blend of jazz, pop, funk, and hip-hop. Signed and numbered if you like to collect music that will never sound old.
12 MP3 Songs in this album (46:17) !
Related styles: JAZZ: Jazz-Pop, HIP-HOP/RAP: Jazz-Rap
Details:
In 1980 he set about to learn the art of multi-tracking so he could create his own band without having to rush the process because of other players who did not share his vision.Did he have too much patience or was he crazy? A little of both, but some things got in the way. He would have to become the band and work endless years to learn how to build drum tracks without being a drummer.Bass tracks without being a bass player. Keyboard tracks without being a piano player, and so on. This would take decades not years.
In the 1990s he became an elementary school music teacher and kept up with the recording process alongside that. Learning how to write lyrics and even jazzrapping.
Now in the present, Silkhorn has developed a groove based music that suggest his influences from Coltrane and Miles without sounding like either. He calls the music jazzpop because it is not really jazz. The grooves feel good and the sax and flute add the jazz flavor. Add the influence of living at the Shore and you have the sound of Silkhorn
