Jeff Lawrence has been in the music scene for a while. He has toured with Hallows Eve, took lessons from Jimmy Herring, and graduated from G.I.T. and spent years in the Atlanta and Nashville areas. He spent years there in bands ranging from thrash metal to country and has cds available in all genres.
Scars was written on an acoustic while taking a break from the live scene and recorded because someone gave him three hours of studio time as a gift,so jeff took in one acoustic guitar and laid down tracks solo and on some tracks layed down rythems he had written and improvised the solos,added acoustic fretless bass ,conga drums,moraccas and tamborine.In three hours a work of art was created with classical pieces running into delta blues and contemporary jazz pieces running through bluegrass and very deep new age type mood music.Scars covers a wide spectrum and other guitarist will flock to this record.How this guy goes unsigned is a mystery and will not go unsolved.No one can improvise like this guy and that is a big statement.try and make a cd in three hours playing all instruments and see if the results are as accomplished.
Jeff is now heading up the guitar program at the Park City Music Conservatory,teaching guitar,bass,mandolin,and banjo,He also runs Dixie music in Salt Lake City.Lessons from Jimmy Herring of the Dead,Pat Buchannon of hall and oats,Cameo,Cindy lauper,Wayne"bear" Sauls of David Allen Coe,B.J.Thomas,Dave Stuart of Hallows Eve,have prepared Jeff for a wide variety of styles and a degree from G.I.T. and Lander University in South Carolina,give him knowledge to apply them to his own imagination and interpatation.
This cd has been regularly playing from the Cayman Islands,to Paris,France,to St. george Utah to Atlanta Georgia.Don't miss this unsung maestro.
