Description:

(ID 368192)
Straight-up, non-pop rock. It's all about the lyrics, although the keys, occasional three-part violins, and a song or two with drums over electronica make the music compelling.

There are a lot of bands that "defy classification", but this band's just trying to make standard issue rock-n-roll and ending up creating lyrical poetry and poetic sound that make your heart thump.

"Something", a song about seeing a ship in the sky, has tasty radio-play vibe.

"Not Bread", a piano piece, describes modern-day emptiness and isolation in a world so filled with things.

"Blue" features a bridge of searing three-part violin in 7/8, while "I remember" offers some great head-banging switches between four and six beat grooves.

"Hear", a sweet number about wanting to confess your love to someone when you don't think it's going to work out too well, showcases the angel-like quality of Jenny's voice with a backdrop of tribal drums that remind you of a heart beat.

"Worth Breaking My Back", though, has that universal theme of a great rock ballad:

"Whatever it is that keeps us all a little down
Whatever it is that keeps us all from reaching out
Whatever it is that changes good love into pain
Is worth breaking my back to try to change..."

Then there's "Take One Memory", another piano piece, which seems like a track right out of Manhatten jazz club until the drums kick in.

There's more, so give it a listen...
