Details:
Tom Jessen is a singer-songwriter yielding from the midwest in Iowa. For the past decade Jessen has told stories of cars and girls, small towns and big cities, booze benders and quiet churches, loves and losses and always with a metaphorical nod to the gods, asking "what is this all about?"

"Night" is a continuation where his critically acclaimed debut "Redemption" left off. This exquisite collection of tunes jumps around seamlessly from the all out rock of opening track "Eulogy" and "All Those Treasure Daggers" to the Tex-Mex feel of "River" to Stax styled RnB of "Let It go", all the while Jessen's songwriting and baritone vocal leads you around a world of light and darkness, sometimes never knowing which is which. The instrumentation is as lavish as was on "Redemption," with horns, strings, woodwinds and traditional rock-n-roll guitars, bass and drums mixed together. But where "Redemption" was an album of definite rural twang, the sounds on "Night" are rounded and bluer almost urban. Some songs are produced and arranged in epic proportions in almost Specteresque fashion. For all its changes and variety, Jessen holds "Night" together with his songs and makes the moves from genre to genre seem effortless.
