Inner City South (ICS)-a dynamic spoken word and performance art duo who share more than just the love of poetry. Comprised of the husband and wife team Ms. Dee-Lite, a stiletto wearing Diva and feminist whose straight forward style demands the respect of the stage and T-Remedi, an artist and visionary who is a masterful story teller with captivating word play that focuses on change, they both strive to display community, love and unity in their marriage and to the masses.


Southern Swagger, Inner City Southâs debut album is a clever hybrid of spoken word and hip-hop with soulful hooks that leave their audience enlightened yet entertained. Representing Southern Folks at their finest ICS poetry depicts real and relatable subject matter with style and flavor all their own. True visionaries, these artists have a passion for people, which is reflected in their writing.

This group has held various charity functions for local institutions. Each year in September they hold an annual fund raiser for Sickle Cell Anemia entitled "Dinner and Divas" a dinner theater experience were all the proceeds go to University Of Tennessee, Memphis-Diggs Kraus Sickle Cell Center, in hopes of finding better treatments for the terminal disease that only effects people of African and "Brown" decent.

ICS has performed throughout the city of Memphis at events such as Africa in April, The Civil Rights Museum, The Cannon Center and the Stax Musuem to name a few.

Under the umbrella of Inner City South lie two (2) businesses designed to spark creativity and provide low cost options for "Edutainment" in the community. The Black Ink Writer's are comprised of ICS and two Memphis poets; Erica Dunlap and Sankofa John Scribio. All are playwrights having just completed their first stage play entitled Rhyme and Reasonâ¦The Hip-Hopera, a real life, yet comical story of 3 emcees and how their rhymes have a greater impact on the people and the world around them.

The second business is Dee-Liteful Bites, a high end catering service with reasonable low-end prices.

Inner City South will continue to "Bring Meaningful Messages to the Masses."
