Here is first time recording of the haunting Laments and Airs of Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738),in Concert Piano arrangements. Carolan was Ireland first great composer. Blinded at age 18, Carolan turned to playing the harp, and later composition, His gift for composition was evident immediately. His over 200 composition survive in single melody line only. Carolan created a unique style by combining folk music and harper tradition, and adding elements by then contemporary composers, including Vivaldi and Corelli.
Mr. Sheridan is regarded as one of Ireland's Greatest pianist and arrangers. He performs his one man show, 'The Art of Turlough O'Carolan' in performing centers and colleges throughout the world.
