Details:
John Kirk & Trish Miller with Quickstep

John and Trish are a married couple working together full time, playing music for concerts, festivals, schools and they both call dances. John is lead singer and a versatile instrumentalist on mandolin, guitar and banjo as well as fiddle. Trish plays banjo and guitar. Sing Out magazine said, "John Kirk is a fine player on all his instruments and he sings quite well. With such a widely varied repertoire, there's really something here for everyone. This is one that's worth seeking out." When Ed Lowman, Sara Milonovich & Cedar Stanistreet join the ensemble, they add three more fiddles, harmony vocals and versatility when they chose to play bass, flute, guitar or bodhran. John, Trish, Ed and Sara live near Saratoga Springs, NY, and Cedar resides a little further north in the Adirondacks.

John Kirk has always made his living as a musician. In addition to his work with Trish, he works with the Woodshed Allstars, the Vanaver Caravan and the Susquehanna Stringband. He can be heard on several TV and recording projects with Jay Ungar and Molly Mason. When John played with the Catskill Conservatory Chamber Players, they made an appearance at Carnegie Hall. In the Hudson Valley John is known for Walt Michael & Company concerts, which he was part of for ten years. He has his own recordings and has played on many more. The Dixie Chicks recorded his song, "Long Roads". In addition to performing, John teaches at Bennington College.

Trish Miller has been teaching and performing Appalachian clogging since 1981. She calls dances, choreographs country dance routines, plays banjo and guitar. The groups she has danced with include the Green Grass Cloggers, a professional touring troupe from Asheville, N.C.; and appearances with the Vanaver Caravan from New Paltz, NY.
