James Michael Skeen is a multi genre/ multi instrumentalist based in the mountains of northeast Tennessee. Primarily a guitarist(31 yrs), JMS love for music and composition moved him to explore other instruments and study their specific roles in a variety of genres(various forms of rock,jazz,blues,country,etc.)
The album "Assurance" was written and recorded during the summer of 2003. Part melody-part improvisation, the album takes inspiration from The Bible. From "Psalm 150"
encouraging people to sing, dance, and play instruments loudly in praise to God,to lying down in peace and sleeping under God's care in "Psalm 4:8", "Assurance" is an accessible, instrumental jazz/pop offering that explores scripture through music.
