The Huge Hefners were formed during the blistering heat of summer 2007. While the band has undergone a few personnel changes since that time, the creative and driving force of the group are Derrick Beaird and Dan Whorton.

Derrickâs love for the guitar began when his twin brother started taking lessons. While his brother has long since put music on the backburner, Derrick hasnât set the guitar down since. Heâs often seen entering the restroom with his guitar, although no one is quite sure why.

The son of a Pentecostal preacher, Danâs singing career began at the age of five in some very spirited surroundings. People still remember a five-year-old boy thumping his foot down on the microphone stand in rhythm to his favorite hymnsâ¦and the subsequent roaring feedback heard over the church P.A. system.

With a strong affinity toward catchy riffs and hooky lyrics, you can hear many rock, pop and alternative influences from the last three decades in their music. The Huge Hefners are based out of Nashville, Tennessee which we all know is the logical home base for a rock band.
