Details:
Norman and Tracy met in the fall of 2005. They started singing together in February 2007 and were married in April 2007.
Norman and Tracy are believers in the Messiah, Yahshua (Hebrew name of Jesus Christ), prophesied of in the Tanakh (Old Testament).
Norman was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. At the age of twelve he picked up the guitar and taught himself to play. He started writing rock and roll music at the age of fifteen and had his own band for a short time. At the age of twenty he was converted to Jesus Christ. He started not to long after that to write Christian music. He came from a dysfunctional family which brought the hardship in his life that lead to his conversion. Years later he discovered his family was Jewish from genealogic records. After that, he pursued the Messianic way of life, rediscovering his roots. He began writing music in a messianic format to honor and praise Yahshua the Messiah with the gift of music that God gave to him using it for His honor and glory.
Tracy was born in Arlington, Texas. She was a believer from childhood and memorized portions of the Bible from kindergarten on. It was common to hear Tracy singing from dawn until dark or until her parents said enough. She was always trying to get musical sounds out of anything with potential, toy harmonicas, old bongos, shoebox guitars, etcâ¦.In the sixth grade she learned to play the alto saxophone in her school band. That same year she began writing music. A few years later she picked up a guitar. When she learned about the Hebrew roots of her faith, the music changed. Suddenly, melodies which had only been in her head were common themes in the songs the congregations sang. This led to more music at home, more writing, singing and playing Messianic music.
The band's name, Yonah, is Hebrew for dove and is a reference to the biblical book by the same name Jonah. The dove represents the Holy Spirit. Yahshua the Messiah is calling His bride to make preparations for His return. This is the theme of the album cover. It is only by His grace that we will have forgiveness if we turn to Him. Receive His Holy Spirit and allow the light He has given us to shine by the testimony of His word. He will then come soon and receive us as the bride to dwell with Him forever.
The album is a combination of music composed by Norman and Tracy influenced from the Song of Songs, Psalms, and Revelation. There are some testimonial songs, as well as a few instrumental songs.
Yahshua, who is the Son of God, died for our sins so we can be saved and become the bride. Norman and Tracy praise Him now through music. Bless His Holy Name. May He come soon. Amen.
