John Rich has been inspired by mountains, lakes and the sea ever since his early years in New Hampshire. He has always had a strong desire to capture a sense of place with music. Summers on the lake where "On Golden Pond" was filmed began forming his musical roots. In 1974, his bread-and-butter role, as a human resource manager and trainer, allowed a move to the Pacific Northwest. He has been creating musical images of these magical places ever since.
