Four years have passed since Michael Carlosâs album debut, of âYesterdayâs Icons.â Within those four years Carlosâs experiences with death, tragedy, and triumph have played pivotal roles in shaping him as a true musical gem in the northwest. This album reflects on these events in producing a record that best represents his feelings and experiences over this monumental time period.

âProbably the best way to sum up this record is that itâs a hard look at some things I have been through in the last few years, but it also reflects on similar chaos in the world as a whole,â says Michael Carlos.

The new album showcases Carlosâs eclectic blend of rock, Spanish/Latin, alt-country, folk, and modern indie-rock. Every track on this record demonstrates Carlosâs musical variety. You can rock out with âOut of Controlâ and âMore than one way downâ or reflect with songs like âGone too farâ and âWear it well.â In addition the album also includes Carlosâs first completed songs in Spanish, âJennyâs Cumbiaâ and âPlayerita.â âJennyâs Cumbiaâ is a tribute song to Carlosâs girlfriend Jennifer Reese who died in a tragic car accident. Carlos was also severely injured in this accident and almost died, however he was able to recover and retain full mobility to all of his extremities.

âDamage and Remainderâ is not just a documentary of the events in Carlosâs life. The lyrics in the album draw unique storylines which focus on the theme of change in a broader scope and not just on a personal level.
