Since forming in 2003, The Brothers Goldman have played in venues all over the San Francisco Bay Area developing their own brand of fOnk, mixing up the sounds of New Orleans street fonk and acid jazz with their unique musical vision.
Bay Area guitarist /vocalist Bill Phillippe, drummer Joe OâLoughlin and keyboardist / B-3 whiz kid Christian Boyd founded The Brothers Goldman in 2003 and solidified the current line up with the addition of bassist Tom Buckman in Nov 2005.
From the cafes of the Mission District in San Francisco to the blues clubs of San Jose to the hallowed halls of the Fillmore Auditorium, the Brothers Goldman have shared the stage with a range of musicians that include Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Govt Mule, Stanton Moore, Jon Cleary, Wil Blades, and Robert Walter.
The band's influences are a diverse range of musicians old and new. The Meters, Galactic, Jon Cleary, Walter Wolfman Washington, The Allman Brothers, John Scofield, Medeski Martin and Wood, John Coltrane and James Brown all influence the songs, grooves and fOnk served up by The Brothers Goldman.
