Cat & Steve (both completely coincidentally from Cleveland, Ohio) met in Nashville in 2001 and immediately discovered an unusually compatible musical bond as writers. Steve is a guitarist with a very personal playing style, while Cat's influences as a singer are eclectic: classical, pop, and singer-songwriter rock.

Johnny Microwave's debut EP features six imaginative, lyrically evocative tracks. Steve's killer guitar ranges from the trippy/bluesy slide work of "The Karaoke Machine Song" to the angular slashing of "When the Mother Ship Comes Down," from the Celtic folk-rock and rootsy crunch of "Too Far Gone" to the psychedelic quirkiness (think Johnny Marr) of "Sew Me Up in a Bubble."
