Details:
As a solo performer, Jon Gorey has played extensively in the Boston area and well beyond- from Los Angeles to London, Seattle to Stockholm- for the last four years. In May 2004, he released his first full-band CD, "Indeed!" on Wheelkick Records, bringing new energy and potential to his acclaimed songwriting. With mates Rich Brewer (bass, harmonies), Phil Gorey (guitar), and Dave Millar (drums), the Jon Gorey Band has been performing to packed rooms in Boston and New York since last summer, while Jon has continued to play acoustic shows in the U.S. and Ireland.

"Indeed!" features what have been called "feel good barroom rock" songs like "Kylie I Can't Say" and "Goodbye Summertime," as well as more introspective tracks like "Gray Blue Morning" and a moody, thundering ode to Christopher Columbus, "The Sailor."

However it's "The Scarlet Letter", a live acoustic recording from early April, that ensured the album's enduring legacy in Boston: an Irish-style drinking song about the Red Sox, recorded just before opening day, the song's chorus couldn't have been more optimistic and prophetic in declaring, "Hey! I think this is the year!" as the Sox went on to win their first World Series Championship in 86 years. Thanks to Track 4, you'll find "Indeed!" in the jukeboxes at many Boston sports bars, including the famous Cask n' Flagon across from Fenway Park, where the song was recorded.

From start to finish, "Indeed!" proves to be a worthy full band debut from the singer/songwriter. Gorey's put together an album that's as instantly enjoyable out of the case as it is savored after months in the stereo. See for yourself- take a listen!

"The funny thing about the title is that by the end of the album you find yourself saying "Indeed!" and reaching for the play button again." - J-Sin, Smother.net
