Kate Moody: pianist, composer, teacher, conductor
Melodic and harmonic music that uplifts the spirit

Kate studied piano performance at Sonoma State University before going on to graduate work in composition at the New England Conservatory. Kate continues to be actively involved in music education as a teacher of piano, composition, and general music studies at her Agate Pass Music Studio in Portland, Oregon.
The recording of Kate's full-length symphonic work, The Seeker, won Best Instrumental Album at the 2004 Just Plain Folks Music Awards. It is in four movements: Wake-up Call, River of Love, Angels & Eskimos, and Shining Through. Stewart Kershaw, conductor of the Pacific Northwest Ballet, calls The Seeker, "The marriage of Classical and New Age...music that will warm the human spirit." The recording, made at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, also includes Fantasy for Electric Guitar & Orchestra, featuring George Doering on guitar, and Malu (The Healing Heart), a musical prayer for the well-being of all.
"Kate Moody is widely recognized among artists and listeners alike as a composer of original works depicting the scenic beauty of the Northwest and the spiritual legacy of our region." - Fred Coleman, Seattle Choral Company
Kate's music is available in print from Voice of the Rockies (www.voiceoftherockies.com).
