When Brian Kahanek first picked up a guitar it was out of fascination, and from that came a deep and life long love. There was something about the styles of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton that profoundly moved him. His formative years were spent immersed in the music of these mentors but later he would begin writing his own chapter with the same passion and inspiration that shaped his beginning.

Throughout his college days, Brian grew up and found his voice. Recording and touring with various rock acts on the Texas circuit were just as important as his musical studies. It was during this time that he began to understand and embrace his roots.

This Texas proving ground nurtured Brian until 1998, when he made the move to Los Angeles. Living in L.A. made him look inward to find his true nature. Going against the grain of his surroundings lit fire to his imagination, thus giving "birth" to his very own brand of music.

Cuts on his debut CD "Real Life" run the gambit of emotional themes - from the loss and dissolution of love in "Love Deluxe", the inspired hope of "Tomorrow", to the haunting melody and painful words of "Little Things". "Real Life" is a personal statement which questions what the core of life is and where happiness can be found. Its honesty and openness, delivered with a beautiful melodic voice, are the most powerful elements of Brian's style.
