perhaps most noted for her vocal abilities, karen is also regarded for introspective lyrics and listener friendly melodies. she emerged two years ago in dallas area nightclubs and coffeehouses primarily as a solo acoustic act. karen soon found her niche as a multi-faceted solo artist, displaying remarkably strong vocals, well written songs and embellishing her guitar work with the use of effects pedals.

in 2004 she began pre-production for her first release, blind, and called upon two of her close friends to lend a hand. jamie schultz, also a relative newcomer to the dallas music scene, had already performed guitar with karen throughout numerous acoustic settings. meanwhile, drummer jaelun washington had steadily been making a name for himself in the local jazz circuit. in need of a bassist, karen soon got in touch with keith bryant, whom she met while he was performing with another local artist.

already a standout solo artist, the addition of her band has taken karen to further depths of musical progression. together, this newly formed four-piece fuses a unique brand of pop rock with subtle hints of jazz, r&b, and even folk undertones.
