3 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Roots Rock, ROCK: Folk Rock
Details:
My name is Karl Fortier and I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist who lives in Novi, Michigan. My 3-song mini-album starts off with the title track, "Just A Whisper Away," a kind of power ballad about trying to re-establish a lost love. It started as a work of fiction, and then became sort of a tribute to an old girlfriend of mine who passed away in the 90's. It represents what I consider to be one of my better tunes.
Then there's "Away With The Wind," my attempt at a country-rock song. My favorite artists in this genre are the Eagles and the 1970s-early '80s work of Eric Clapton. I don't think my song sounds anything like those legendary artists, but I don't agree with my dad on this one either...he says it reminds him of the Cars!
The third song on the CD is "Let Her Fly," a power chord rocker that a lot of people tell me is their favorite song (on this CD, not in the world.) I've always loved a good hard rock song, and "Let Her Fly" reflects this more than my other material. It's kind of retro in a Joan Jett sort of way. It's very different from the first two...I think you could actually dance to this!
