The Illness of Love is an album for those who like good music, regardless of genre.
The album is an interesting mash-up of both eclectic and traditional sounds from Rock to Hip-Hop to Oriental.
As an artist, EVRiM wants to bring the words "Pop Music" out of the gutter and to add the ART back to the phrase "Pop ARTist".
----------------------------------------------------
About the Artist
Born in Istanbul, Turkey but raised in Houston, Texas, EVRiM is a "Rebel Pop" artist with a break-through feel to her music. EVRiMâs music can be best described as âElectronically-Produced Electro Rebel Popâ with infusions of Dance, New Wave, Electronica, Rock, World, Hip-Hop, Oriental and more.
Shortly after moving from Istanbul to Houston at age three, EVRiM began performing a popular Turkish song, Uskudar, for small parties. By twelve, she could sight read music, including pieces from Mozart. At eleven, she began creating her own music and by fourteen was writing full-on songs for a friendâs band. During her middle and high school years, EVRiM produced and performed her own shows, sang for four regional choirs and received over fifteen solo and ensemble medals. To add to her stage presence, EVRiM has studied and performed various types of dance, such as street, jazz, ballet, and modern. In addition to music, she is a Thespian, won 1st place for a dramatic performance in a regional tournament, and has been in a number of non-musical performances and plays.
From 1991 to 2007, EVRiM has performed at an array of different venues including the Turkish Ball in Houston, main stage at the Houston International Festival, Texas Horny Toads in Baytown, Helios, Chances Bar, Deanâs Credit Clothing, Super Happy Fun Land and main stage at the 17th Annual Turkish Festival at Jones Plaza. EVRiM has also performed with solos in the musicals âGodspellâ, âYouâre a Good Man, Charlie Brownâ and âThe Wizâ.
In addition to the Arts, EVRiM has an academic side, graduating with a BS in Advertising/ Marketing from the University of Texas-Austin and later earning her MBA - Magna Cum Laude â at the University of Miami. After years of individual research into what ails the world, it was in 2004 that EVRiM invented a brand new process in psychology/sociology, which will be featured in her upcoming book â Gazelle Therapy: The Rebelâs Handbook for the Journey of Life. She spent most of 2005 in a remote fishing village off the Aegean coast of Turkey writing the book.
EVRiMâs music is part of the new sound where Pop is finally headed. She thinks âPopâ has become a bad word and wants to change that. With a music video, a catchy single, and an album being readied for release, EVRiM is fully prepared for the music industry. She was OutSmart Magazine's top pick for "People to Watch" in 2008 and recently released her first LP, The Illness of Love.

From the Artist
Iâve lived a lot of life in a short time, thus now I can create things that are beautiful. Iâm an inventor, a scholar, an artist, a songwriter. Iâm also a loner and an extrovert. Itâs hard being both.
Iâm destined to move big things. Iâm no longer afraid of the world. I also am not intent on conquering it either. Changing it? Thatâs for sure. You might say Iâve already started.
So what have I done? I danced with life and it danced with me. And the dance has changed my way of thinking. If you listen to my music or skim through my book, youâll get a much better idea of what Iâm talking about.
Iâve been involved with music and the arts and academia since my childhood, but my passion has always been discovery of what ails us all. My music and my writings are my output devices for this passion, which seeps through my creations.
I believe the human mind and heart and spirit are capable of things we have up until now mostly imagined and rarely seen. There is so much to discover. Like the subconscious mind, the contents and abysses of Earthâs oceans are an epic yet to be explored. And the human potential is as vast as the Universe itself: unending, untold, unfettered.
Since time moves forward, even stagnation is loss. We are in a time of great change and there is more to come. There always is. Change is the only constant you can rely on. Unless we (human beings) accept and learn to live with and perhaps even embrace change, we will more than likely self-destruct.
âThe world we have created is a product of our thinking. It can not be changed without changing our thinking.â
âAlbert Einstein
Maybe overcoming chaos will help us to finally see.
