Against the odds, wonderful traditional players continue to turn up. K. M. Williams is a one-man wrecking crew, churning out driving rhythms and keening bottleneck leads on his guitar and singing in a creek-bed-dry voice. Williams doesn't always get the falsetto he reaches for, but that intensifies the feeling he puts into these country blues and spirituals. This is great raw stuff!!! The Reverend of Texas Country Blues is highly recommended.

May I be so bold? Honestly, without hope of regret or exaggeration. I believe KM Williams has put out one of the best blues debuts of this year. Sure the year is very young yet but, I have a feeling it doesn't get much better than this.

All original songs all performed by Williams and all one hundred percent great. The title doesn't lie. This is Texas Country Blues so sincerely executed and intimately played that you really feel as though you have stepped back in time. Williams ain't faking the mood or the intonation and it's obvious. One sip will tell you this isn't the cheap stuff you are drinking here. The title track "I'm Gonna Walk 100 Miles" dives in deep and takes you with it. Great heartfelt vocals with some stylish, honest bottleneck slide guitar playing.

Williams wrote all 11 tracks and performs with an intensity and flare that is unique. There is a gospel edge to his pieces that elegantly surfaces through the lyrics and occasionally through the compositions. Check out how he handles the spiritual themes in tunes like "I'm The Lord's Child" and "Know I Been Converted."

While his manner and sound are very much steeped in the country blues that came before him, Williams' style is very much immediate and his own. You cannot help but feel his emotions as he sings, to me the mark of an excellent blues artist. High Praise? It is deserved. This is a terrific introduction to a performer I hope to hear more from. Do yourself a favor and seek this one out.

Born 1956 in Clarksville,Texas.Raised in Red River County,Texas, deep in the country of Northeast Texas. Received an early guitar lesson from a travelin Bluesman believed to be Elmore James, at the age of 7; received first guitar at the age of 8; after high school, joined the U.S. NAVY; relocated to Cleveland ,Ohio in 1981 after enlistment ended.

Performed with various gospel groups & choirs for about 15 years, but also performed solo blues & jazz gigs. Became an ordained minister in the Church Of God In Christ in 1995.

Formed a delta blues band, K. M. Williams & The Blues Train in 1996, performing with or opening for legendary blues & gospel artists such as Little Milton, Robert Jr. Lockwood, The Holmes Brothers & The Five Blind Boys Of Alabama.

Hard times prompted move back to Dallas, Texas in 1999, performing the solo country blues he grew up with. Have since performed at various Clubs & Festivals around the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
