With the recording of the Cd âDEVIL MAY CAREâ, Martin Gasselsberger and Hermann Linecker have re-animated a common project after quite a break (while). A long-term musical friendship connects these upper-austrian pianists, which in terms of rhythmâ seem to be âtwo of a kindâ but due to their individual harmonically approach, clearly differ from each other.
Both musicians shine through interaction, virtuouso performance and ânever over the top-
improvisationâ.
Different colours grow out of the blue and so âDEVIL MAY CAREâ turns out to be a spontaneous extraordinary experience. The tremendous timing of both pianists allows them to take full risk â âdevil may careâ â while improvising. A lot of passages are of childishly ease. All of the songs are originals except âOn Green Dolphin Streetâ (arrangement Hermann Linecker) and âOver The Rainbowâ (Martin Gasselsberger solo), two delicate arranged features of standards. âWeird Bluesâ pays homage to the great Oscar Peterson.
âDevil May Careâ is a documentation of some kind of a âpiano summitâ that took place in the âFazioli Concert Hallâ in Sacile (IT), where in the first days of April 2008 a musically firework has been displayed.
