Hi, Monte J Meldman MD is a medical doctor, a psychiatrist practicing weight loss medicine in Deerfield Illinois. Day in and day out, I hear the pain and the laments of obese people who have so much trouble overcoming their addiction to sugar, salty foods and just plain overeating of everything. I resonate with them and my empathy often leads me to overeat along with my patients. I too have an overeating sweets problem that I have dealt with in 5 treatment programs over the course of a long life. Who else would care? So I wrote this song with the help of a favorite patient who I no longer see, so her name is not on this version, as I do not know if she would permit it. We both have moved on. It is a musical lament for all fat peole who try to lose weight and can't, or have a terrible time doing the program. It is funny because if you do not laugh about it you will cry all the time. So, I choose fun and laughter to sooth the soul of the wildness inside that leads us into self-destructive overeating and obesity.
